Hi Everyone,
So i have read previous water leaks from upstairs posts. I just want to clarify the issue of liability here...if the leak is from the owner upstairs, the only thing I, as a landlord can do, is write to the owner to raise the issue, speak to them, or go to samll claims. Thats about it yes?

I thought landlords are responsible for maintaining the property, not just passing the buck to the upstairs owner. If there's a leak from their unit, you definitely should notify them and try to work it out, but you might also need to look into what your responsibilities are in dealing with the situation. If the leak causes damage, it could affect your tenants and your property, so it's important to address it properly. You might also want to check your insurance policy to see what it covers in these cases.
