lost first tenancy agreement

I am helping a friend carry out a section 21 eviction. I have evicted a few tenants before through the courts. Unfortunately my friend has lost the first tenancy agreement which was issued in 2005. I have the latest tenancy agreement and there was a section 21 attached, which I will be using.

She is almost 100% of the date that the tenant moved in and she has a copy of the original cheque which was given and bounced for the first rent and deposit.

Should i ask my friend to write a letter to the court in place of the first tenancy explaining the situation or will it get thrown out.

The tenant is not cooperative as she owes £10,000 in rent. We are not proceeding with section 8 as she has recently begun complaining about works etc and there would be a high risk that section 8 would get turned down.

The court forms ask when the tenant moved in and to attach a copy of the first tenancy agreement

We just need her out.

Has anyone been in the same situation or can they offer any advice?

I could be wrong here and hope someone will correct me if I am wrong. If the owner can not prove to be a lease or contract Shorthold newspapers, then by default, becomes an assured tenancy that the tenant has rights in its mandate.
