I purchased a house with tenant in situ earlier this year via auction  Unaware at the time but I'm now advised by tenants solicitors that no valid gas safe was done prior to the tenants occupation in 2019.. The tenant did sign a new agreement with me but have been told this does not matter..I've also noticed on the claim form it states occupation not tenancy.

Please can anyone offer some advice please?
