Hello all, need some advice.  Iv got rid of my bad agent, and he has asked for 3 months notice monies but I have not signed any terms of business with the agent so don't owe him anything.  He's earned from both my properties for well over a year and for doing very little.  I requested working professional tenants he found tennants that both claim some form of housing benefits, which I just recently found out about, one is struggling to top-up the rent each month.  He has also lodged both deposits with the DPS under his agents details.  I need these deposits transferred back to me so when the tenants do leave I can release the deposits back to them.  I have requested he transfers both deposits to my dps account but he seems like he is trying to get more money out of me even though he has failed on a number of the tenant find and management responsibilities.  Does anyone know whether the DPS will do the transfer if the agent continues to ignore my request and I am legally the owner of both properties.

You could call DPS and ask them this question, so far landlords have reported that they are really quite helpful.

hi all again, the DPS cant do anything as the agent has refused the transfer to them as well, is there anything else I can do?

Are they members of ombudsman and/or ARLA?

Seems like your agent is quite dodgy!
