I moved into my partner's house, so I bought a flat, just in case we didn't get on.  Which I let out, my tenants received in the post, an invoice from a company called HomeGround, for £1098.69.  The invoice goes back to Aug.2015 and it is for Assign Property Insurance £147.31, and Assign Terrorism, £7.88 for every year back to 2015.  I have never ever heard of these people before.  Please could anybody put any light on this.   This has come right out of the blue.

HomeGround are a Management Company who act on behalf of Landlords... not Landlords like you... the Landlord of your property... the Freeholder... you are the Leaseholder... usually for collecting things like Ground Rents.

It is typical / usual / expected that as part of the Conveyancing process your Solicitor would have asked for a statement, from the seller (old Leaseholder) of the Leasehold property you bought, showing that nothing was outstanding. Might be a bit late now... although I note that you don't say when you bought it - could be 2015?

BTW... your Tenants haven't received the invoice... you have... it's nothing to do with them... I guess they just opened it? There's probably been many.
